Buttercup house….. should I stay or should I go?

So… about two weeks before Christmas, we found another house that we LOVED! (I was in the habit of browsing the listings every now and then).  We spent 5 days painting bathrooms, organizing, doing the little fixes that you normally just live with for a while, and listed the Buttercup house on a Friday and had an offer on Sunday! Which was just what we needed so we could put an offer on the house we fell in love with! Unfortunately, another offer was put on the house the same day, and we didn’t get the house.  If only we had been one day earlier on our offer!  Disappointing!  But we chalked it up to that it wasn’t meant to be…. But the people who put the offer on our house are willing to wait for us to find another, so do we continue looking? Or decide to stay and move forward with upgrading the Buttercup house?

Our plans, in the immediate future, are to finish the basement, which is a nice walk out with 5 day light windows. We would like to add another bedroom,  full bathroom, laundry room, and a family room.  And we would like to upgrade the kitchen, which would mean a complete overhaul, new flooring, cabinets, counter tops, etc.

This is what Buttercup house currently looks like. These were taken just before the professional photographer came to shoot the house for the MLS listing.

Gregg designed and built this custom mudroom coat rack and bench, and I love it!  We found the hooks at World Market and they perfectly complement the dark stain of the bench and the little baskets we found at Lowe’s for the shelf.
