The Grand Place

During these cold winter days, I’ve been looking back at our summer adventures, which included a weekend trip to Brussels, Belgium in July. Brussels was a city that came alive in the evening and liked to sleep in until the afternoon. Gregg, who is a morning person, was able to go in the early morning hours and find “The Grand Place” or “Grote Markt” empty, which made for some great photo opportunities.

We also fulfilled a lifetime dream of Gregg’s and toured the Cantillon brewery at 56, rue Gheude. They specialize in Lambic style beers, which are quite sour.  Not being a fan of sour beers, I gave Gregg my free sample at the end of the brewery tour.

We also visited the Delirium Cafe, ate delicious Belgium waffles and chocolate, saw the Manneken Pis and drank our fair share of Belgium beers…..
